Being a Snack Goblin isn’t a hobby. It’s a calling. A way of life. A quiet, crumb-covered commitment to the art of eating things you shouldn’t, at times you definitely shouldn’t, in places that will never fully recover.
This is your guide. Study it. Live it. Get crumbs on it.
Rule #1: Always Have a Backup Snack Behind the Backup Snack
The fridge is the main stash. The cupboard is the backup. But a true Snack Goblin has a third location. A drawer. A coat pocket. A place nobody else knows about.
If someone finds your emergency biscuits, you’ve failed. Relocate and start again.
Rule #2: If They Can Hear the Wrapper, You’re Not Being Sneaky Enough
The 2am kitchen trip is sacred. It requires stealth. Patience. The ability to open a packet of crisps like you’re defusing a bomb.
Technique matters. Peel slowly. Breathe through the crinkle. Never, ever, choose a bag of Doritos for a covert mission.
Rule #3: The Fridge Light Is Your Guiding Star
Open the fridge. Stare into it. Close the fridge. Wait four minutes. Open it again. Something new might have appeared. It hasn’t. But hope is free.
This ritual is not about finding food. It never was.
Rule #4: “Sharing” Is a Suggestion, Not a Rule
Someone asks for “a crisp” and takes three? That’s a betrayal. Someone eats the last biscuit without telling you? That’s a declaration of war.
A Snack Goblin protects the stash. Always.
Rule #5: Every Meal Is Improved by Eating It Horizontally
Toast on the sofa. Pizza in bed. Cereal while lying on the floor at 11pm questioning your life choices. All valid. All correct. All part of the process.
The Snack Goblin’s Creed
I will snack when I’m hungry. I will snack when I’m bored. I will snack when I’m slightly emotional, mildly tired, or just because the cupboard was open and something caught my eye.
I will leave crumbs. I will deny leaving crumbs. I will become the crumbs.
